I am the odd one! I love the winter season!
I enjoy the cold weather, and especially like the shorter days-longer evenings with lots of candles burning! Winter solstice will be here soon, so I’m making the effort to slow down and enjoy my evenings. I feel that I have more time to relax, and rest with the shorter days.
Plants, trees and animals are all resting, so should I! Speaking of animals….HOW about the word hibernation? Isn’t that a great word? It’s been a favorite of mine for several years!
Winter is my hibernation season.
Maybe what we desire is REST, which I’m learning involves more than just our activity or lack of, or how much sleep we got last night.
Many struggle with anxiety. How do we deal with the everyday stresses that collect and then become overwhelming? May I suggest one simple change in thought pattern? Do the next right thing…not focusing on the other million things that must be accomplished. This one concept has helped me walk through some very difficult days.
We can be at rest, even when our lives and circumstances are out of control…

For me, I’ve learned that my surroundings also contribute to just how restful I am feeling.
I’ve made a conscious effort to make sure my bedroom is neat, organized, and decorated in such a way that I enjoy spending time in my room.
A restful mind and a grateful heart will change your outlook! Everyday, try listing a few things you are grateful for….look for the obscure…the way the sun is shining through the window, the way a plant is growing, flicker of candle light.
I need to practice looking for gratefulness! How about you??? Maybe that’s our next right thing to do…..
How about a few Handcrafted Hints??
- How do you get the Vitamin C out of the bottle when the bottle is almost empty and the dropper is no longer effective? I use a q-tip and get every drop!!
- Long eyelashes are the rage right now!! Eyelash serums can be expensive, along with questionable ingredients. Try using our Daily Moisturizing Oil Plus. The oils in this moisturizer,as well as the lavender, will nourish and boost eyelashes. I use the plus moisturizer every night on my face, and now include painting a thin line along the base of my eyelashes. Progress takes time…but the oils will help nourish dry, brittle eyelashes.

We are all about healthy lifestyle choices.
Skin. Heart. Mind.
Simple. Pure. Effective.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Janet
I’m with you! I love winter time. I feel like I need all four seasons. I was raised in Eastern Kentucky and I loved watching the changes in the trees, plants and peoples’ attitudes around me. I love the concept of always trying to find the positives in life. I think it’s so important for our children to hear our gratefulness to the Lord for even the smallest things. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
