“The way I see it, if you want the rainbow,
you gotta put up with the rain.”
Dolly Parton
How can it be February 15, 2022? One minute we were celebrating Christmas and the next minute it’s the middle of February. Our family, like so many, has experienced the overwhelming effects of sickness. Multiple members of our family have been sick and a beloved aunt passed away. We, like you, have become tired and weary.
My January consisted of daily trips to the hospital, PPE, and a great deal of time reading, researching, and helping those who were sick.
I am so grateful for life, and looking forward to spring. It has been a very long winter for our family. I know we are not alone. Many families have endured suffering and lost. I am confident of just a few things….
FAITH
2 Corinthians 5:7
For we live by faith, not by sight
HOPE
Isaiah 40:31
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
LOVE
1 Corinthians 16:14
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Everyday kindness matters.Kindness matters when dealing with family or stranger. Everyone is dealing with something…you may not be able to see it. Kindness makes a difference. Showing up makes a difference. Keep on Keeping on makes a difference. Being present makes a difference.
The last conversation I had with my aunt ended with each of us saying, “I love you.” I am so grateful for this conversation and for the words.
Flowers, singing birds, sunshine and warmer temperatures are just around the corner. For that we are grateful. Until then…..love the people around you and show kindness!
Joy in the journey,
janet
