How about this word for the day!
Glippie – glamorous hippie.
Someone who enjoys fixing up the outside but crunchy on the inside. I am 100% glippie. Hannah is definitely a mix, but Ashley and Ellie are just the opposite.
One evening, I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few items. I ran into a friend, who asked why I was all “dolled up”…have you been somewhere? I replied, “ I look like this everyday….I get up; I paint the barn!” This friend is very natural in her appearance…no make-up, long beautiful white hair. She joked about being crunchy. I looked at the cookies, Pepsi and other junk in her cart and commented, “You may be crunchy on the outside, but you are not on the inside!”
If you research our blog posts, you will find a post titled, “A Glippies guide to eyes”. It is an excellent read, and is written by Lyndsey – the previous owner of Handcrafted Beauty.
So let’s talk about the eyes…more specifically…
LASHES!
LASHES!
LASHES!
Because right now it is all about the lashes. I have been on a quest to find a way to make my lashes look longer and fuller. Lash extensions are so popular, but I don’t really have the time or the extra money for that luxury. I have tried Latisse, but I am allergic and developed severe red eyes and hives…sigh..but my lashes did look amazing.
I changed my search to experimenting with different types of mascara. I absolutely love Thrive Causematics liquid lash extension mascara. It is amazing. My lashes look thick and long! This mascara is a keeper for sure, and is my plan b if I am short on time.
Lash extensions still intrigued me, so I kept researching and came across Lashify. I did quite a bit of reading of information and reviews. I follow several influencers who use Lashify, so I read all their posts concerning Lashify and watched multiple videos. I was sold and decided to give Lashify a try. I am super glad I did!
The control kit, which is the initial investment, is a bit pricey. It includes: the fuse control wand, 2 sets of gossamer lashes, whisper-light bond, and glass sealer. I also discovered that you really need a few more items besides just the control kit. I purchased Melt Away, which easily removes lashes, and Pre-Cleanse, which is a prep for your lids and lashes. I really like both of these products and have not experienced a reaction to either. Disposable spoolies and lint-free cotton pads are a must! I ordered both from Amazon.
So how does this work for me? I actually apply lashes in the morning and remove at night. Because I have extremely dry eyes, and must put drops in my eyes every night and morning, this is the best schedule for me. Whisper-light bond does allow for 1-3 days of continuously wearing lashes. Twice I have worn my lashes for 2 days in a row. Not a single problem – but I didn’t put drops in my eyes, so I am not sure how the medication works with the whisper light bond.
At night, after removing the lashes, I soak them in alcohol for 24 hours. The following night I remove from the alcohol and clean using a disposable spoolie. I’m not sure how long the gossamers will last…I am new at this, but so far lashes are holding up just fine.
Lashify does sell Bondage which is the answer to long wear; allowing you to wear lashes for 7 plus days. I will probably try this at some point, but right now, I am still deciding which style and the lash length that works best for me. Check out their website!!
Here is what I love about Lashify Amplify lashes:
Easy to apply!
Easy to wear!
Look very natural!
